Nigerian National Arrested in Major Drug Bust in New Delhi

New Delhi, April 3: The Special Staff team of the South District has achieved a significant success under Operation Kavach 13.0. The team seized high-quality cocaine weighing 1.031 kilograms and apprehended a key member of the drug supply syndicate. The market value of the confiscated cocaine is estimated to be around 10 crore rupees.

The accused is a Nigerian national who was supplying cocaine in South and Southeast Delhi, operating a vast network. His name is John Chibuike, aged 35, and he resides in the Islam Colony of Mehrauli. John was previously involved in a case under the NDPS Act in 2022.

During Operation Kavach 13.0, the Special Staff surrounded and captured John Chibuike at his residence in Islam Colony. The team tracked him through manual and technical surveillance, executing a raid at his home and seizing 1.031 kilograms of cocaine.

Inspector Anuj Kumar (IC/Special Staff) led the operation, which was conducted under the supervision of ACP Abhinendra Jain. The team included SI Amit Grewal, SI Manish Phogat, HC Akshay, HC Rakesh, HC Santveer, HC Manish, Constable Ankit, and Constable Surendra.

This operation delivers a significant blow to the drug supply chain. Following the arrest, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at the Mehrauli police station.

The investigation is ongoing, with the Special Staff working to dismantle the entire syndicate. Other members of the supply chain, as well as interstate and international links, are also being traced.

Under Operation Kavach 13.0, the South District police are actively combating drug-related crimes, and this major success represents a strong strike against drug trafficking.
