
Abu Dhabi, April 3: On Friday, debris from a missile interception in the Ajman area of Abu Dhabi injured 12 people, including five Indian nationals. The UAE’s air defense system successfully neutralized the missile, but damage occurred nonetheless.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office reported on social media platform ‘X’ that the debris fell after a successful interception by the air defense system, resulting in minor to moderate injuries for six Nepalese and five Indian citizens, while one Nepalese national sustained serious injuries. The public has been urged to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumors or unreliable information.
Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense intercepted 18 ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 47 UAVs launched from Iran on Friday.
According to the statement, since the onset of Iranian attacks, UAE air defense has intercepted a total of 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2,085 UAVs.
These attacks have resulted in the deaths of two armed forces members fulfilling their national duty, as well as a Moroccan national contracted by the armed forces. Additionally, nine civilians, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationals, lost their lives.
A total of 203 individuals have been injured, with varying degrees of severity. The injured include citizens from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Jordan, Nigeria, Oman, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
The UAE Ministry of Defense remains prepared to address any threats and has pledged to counter any attempts aimed at undermining the UAE’s security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, safety, and stability, as well as securing its national interests and capabilities.
