Humidity Rises in Rajasthan Due to Weak Monsoon, Bikaner Crosses 40 Degrees

Jaipur, 19 August (Kiran News). Due to a weak monsoon in August, most parts of Rajasthan are experiencing heat and humidity. In many areas of the state, temperatures have crossed 35 degrees Celsius, while Bikaner remained the hottest with 40.1 degrees. Rainfall is currently limited to southern and eastern Rajasthan, while the western desert regions are facing increased humidity and heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity in the air was recorded between 50 and 85 percent till 5:30 pm on Monday.

The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, has predicted that in the coming days, there may be moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms in Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions of southern Rajasthan. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely in Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions. In the last week of August, the monsoon system will become active in the Bay of Bengal, which will increase rainfall activities in most parts of the state.

On Monday, the monsoon remained active in some areas of the state. The highest rainfall was recorded in Dabok, Udaipur, at 26.6 mm. Kota received 7.0 mm, Chittorgarh 3.0 mm, Jaisalmer 1.2 mm, and Sangaria in Hanumangarh received 1.0 mm of rainfall. Apart from this, no rainfall was recorded and dry weather prevailed in Ajmer, Bhilwara, Alwar, Jaipur, Sikar, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, and Sriganganagar.

On Monday, Bikaner and Jaisalmer were the hottest places, where the temperature reached 40.1 and 40 degrees, respectively. Barmer recorded 38.8, Jodhpur 37.7, Churu 37.8, and Sriganganagar 37.5 degrees. In the capital Jaipur, the maximum temperature was 35.4 and the minimum was 27.8 degrees. Similarly, in Ajmer, Bhilwara, Alwar, Sikar, Nawalgarh, Chittorgarh, and Dausa, temperatures ranged between 34 and 35 degrees. Dabok in Udaipur was the coolest in southern Rajasthan with a maximum temperature of 31.6 degrees.
