Udaipur, 20 August (Kiran News). Udaipur city and surrounding areas witnessed rainfall for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. After heavy rain in the afternoon, humidity in the atmosphere increased. The rest of the day remained dry, but around 8:30 pm, another spell of heavy rain began, which continued intermittently till late at night. During the day, Udaipur city recorded 9 mm of rain, while Vallabhnagar in the district received 13 mm. In the last 24 hours, Bhungra in Banswara recorded 110 millimetres of rainfall.

On Tuesday morning, scattered clouds led to alternating sun and shade in Udaipur and nearby areas. Around noon, dark clouds gathered and heavy rain followed within a short time. This intense rainfall, lasting about half an hour with short breaks, led to waterlogging on roads and streams flowing in the surrounding regions. Water from Madar Bada Talab continued to reach Fatehsagar via Madar Canal, and soon Fatehsagar Lake is also expected to fill up. After the afternoon downpour, the sky cleared and the sun came out again, increasing humidity in the air. According to the Dabok weather office, Tuesday’s maximum temperature was 31.9°C and the minimum was 25.2°C.
In Dabok, 27.8 mm of rain was recorded in the 24 hours ending in the morning, and 7.6 mm was measured from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. As per Water Resources Department data, up to 8:30 am on Tuesday, rainfall in the past 24 hours included: Bawalwara 3 mm, Jaisamand 10 mm, Jhadol 8 mm, Kejad 12 mm, Madar 2 mm, Rilbhdev 3 mm, Salumber 82 mm, Swaroop Sagar 3 mm, Semari 5 mm, Som Pickup Weir 2 mm, Somkagdar 1 mm, Udaipur city 3 mm, and Udaysagar 12 mm. In the last 24 hours, Bhungra in Banswara received 110 mm, Mahi Dam 41 mm, Dalot in Pratapgarh 95 mm, Peepalkhunt 60 mm, Dhariyawad 16 mm, Salumber 82 mm, and Jhallaara 28 mm of rainfall.
Continuous Water Flow from Madar to Fatehsagar and Sisarma to Pichola
Due to the gradual inflow from Madar Canal, the water level of Fatehsagar Lake has reached 10 feet 4 inches. Meanwhile, there is a two-foot flow in Sisarma, which is maintaining the inflow into Pichola Lake. If strong sheets of water continue to flow from both Madar lakes, the inflow into Fatehsagar will increase further.
