Chennai, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a heavy rain alert for several areas in Tamil Nadu over the next three days, starting Monday. Moderate rainfall is expected across various districts, including Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, and Karur.
In addition, rainfall is also predicted in Erode, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Pudukkottai, and Sivagangai. According to forecasts, Chennai could experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Monday evening or night.
Weather patterns may shift later in the day, although the city is expected to remain dry for most of the afternoon. On Tuesday, September 29, adverse weather conditions are anticipated in Erode, Namakkal, and Madurai, with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds predicted.
Residents are advised to exercise caution during thunderstorms and avoid standing under trees or near exposed electrical equipment. By Wednesday, the weather is expected to impact northwestern and hilly districts.
Heavy rain is forecasted for the Nilgiris, Salem, Erode, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri regions.
