Amit Shah to Address Rally in Jalandhar as BJPs Anti-Drug Campaign Concludes

Jalandhar, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address a significant rally in Jalandhar, Punjab, on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra.’ Preparations for the event are nearly complete.

A large tent has been set up at the rally site on Paragpur Road, and security measures have been tightened with a substantial police presence. Shah is expected to arrive at the venue around 2 PM.

According to BJP leaders, the rally is anticipated to attract around 200,000 attendees. The party has arranged the event on approximately 50-55 acres of land, with about 40 acres designated for the main assembly and the rest allocated for parking. Around 2,000 buses are expected to transport party workers and supporters from various parts of Punjab to Jalandhar for the event.

On September 18, BJP National President Nitin Naveen launched four anti-drug campaigns from Pathankot, aimed at combating substance abuse across the state. This statewide initiative has covered all 117 assembly constituencies.

The four simultaneous campaigns will conclude at the rally site in Jalandhar after traversing nearly 4,000 kilometers throughout Punjab. During the event, Amit Shah will also address party workers.

This visit comes as the BJP intensifies its political activities in Punjab, making drug-related issues a central focus ahead of upcoming assembly elections. The party has been critical of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government regarding its handling of drug problems in the state.
