Haryanas Artistic Community Grieves After Tragic Murder of Singer Ankit Baliyan

Lucknow, September 2: BJP leader Sanjeev Baliyan has expressed his sorrow over the recent murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Baliyan. In an interview with a news agency on Wednesday, he stated that the unfortunate incident has left the entire western Uttar Pradesh community in mourning.

The murder, allegedly carried out by criminals from Haryana, has deeply affected everyone. The police have taken action in this case, and we await further developments, he added. Baliyan emphasized that while Haryana and its cultural heritage are intertwined, the current atmosphere in Haryana has left local artists feeling disheartened.

He noted that public pressure has facilitated action in this case. Like the public, we will continue to exert pressure on the administration and demand accountability for those responsible.

Ankit Baliyan, a talented Haryanvi artist and singer, was shot dead on August 29 in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. Following the incident, police swiftly acted and killed two main shooters involved in the murder during an encounter on Monday.

The tragic event unfolded as Baliyan was leaving a fitness gym located in the Nala Patri area of Shamli Kotwali when four armed assailants from Haryana opened fire, resulting in his immediate death. Subsequently, a case was registered against four unidentified individuals based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father.

The police are continuing their investigation and search for other suspects linked to this case.
