Ahmedabad, July 23: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has launched the ‘Samras Vidya Setu’ campaign aimed at bringing school dropouts back to education in Ahmedabad. Under the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the dropout rate has decreased to just two percent. The state government now plans to locate over 80,000 children who have left school and reintegrate them into the education system with the goal of achieving ‘zero dropout’ rates.
CM Patel stated that a district-wise list of school dropouts has been prepared at the state level. Teachers, local representatives, and community leaders will collaborate to reach out to parents. Each child will be admitted to the appropriate grade (1 to 12) based on their age. Special care and supplementary education will be provided for those who have fallen behind in their studies.
Emphasizing the importance of better coordination between teachers and parents, the Chief Minister noted that Gujarat has become the top choice in the country for business and employment. In this era of global competition, higher education is essential for the youth to maximize employment opportunities. Parents must also be proactive to ensure their children attend school regularly. Success in this initiative will require collective efforts, not just government initiatives.
Patel expressed pride in the increasing quality of education in government and municipal schools, which has led many students to transition from private to public schools. He praised the hard work of all government teachers and staff for their contributions to this improvement.
He further stated that Gujarat has become a preferred destination for investment in business and employment. Strengthening the state’s education system is crucial to ensure that youth can benefit from it. He urged everyone to achieve new milestones in the education sector and participate in the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047.’
Education Minister Dr. Pradyumn Vagh emphasized the necessity of this campaign, stating that the ‘Samras Vidya Setu’ initiative is not just a government program but a people’s movement to secure the right to education.
