Nepals MP Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi for Support During Crisis

Kathmandu, August 27: In the wake of a devastating natural disaster in Nepal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, assuring him of all possible assistance. Vidushi Rana, a Member of Parliament and leader of the National Independent Party, expressed her gratitude to PM Modi for this support.

Rana spoke about her appreciation for PM Modi, stating, “I am truly grateful to PM Modi. As soon as the incident occurred, he issued a heartfelt statement expressing condolences to the affected families and the nation. This is commendable. We have already received a significant amount of relief material from India. Whenever a disaster strikes, we receive help from India.”

She voiced deep concern over the situation, noting that the entire country is going through a profoundly tragic phase, with the government prioritizing rescue and relief operations.

“This is extremely unfortunate. I spent the entire night thinking about the people and families distressed by the loss of their children and loved ones. We are just hoping for good news and to know that everyone is safe,” Rana added.

Describing the current situation as catastrophic, she remarked that it appears to be one of the largest tragedies the country has faced since the 2015 Nepal earthquake. She emphasized that the entire nation is grieving, but the government has promptly mobilized for rescue and relief efforts.

“As a Member of Parliament, I have initiated significant work for rescue operations. Right now, our most important task is to conduct these rescue missions,” she stated.

Rana also shared her thoughts on India-Nepal relations, expressing pride in the connection with such a neighboring country. She highlighted that the open border of 1,751 kilometers is not just a geographical boundary but a bridge connecting people, cultures, and traditions.

“There is a bond of kinship between India and Nepal, where marital ties also exist. The relationship between our two nations has not only developed in recent times but has historical and geographical roots that bind us together,” she explained.

Rana noted that the current situation presents an opportunity for both India and Nepal to strengthen their ties further, as Nepal imports a significant amount from India.

Additionally, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, a member of the BJP National Executive, expressed sorrow over the situation unfolding in Nepal. He remarked that the images emerging in the media are distressing and causing deep anguish among people.

Sahasrabuddhe stated that the Indian government and people have expressed their condolences to the people of Nepal. He referenced the collapse of a bridge due to flash floods, emphasizing that such a tragedy strengthens the bond between India and Nepal, rooted in empathy, heart, and emotion.
