New Delhi, August 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a bilateral visit to Uzbekistan on August 29-30 and will attend the 26th SCO Summit in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 1.
At the invitation of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Modi’s trip to Tashkent marks his fourth visit to the country. During this visit, he will engage in delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The two leaders will review cooperation in various sectors, including trade and investment, defense, digital connectivity, energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges. They will also share insights on advancing their mutual development goals for a developed India by 2047 and Uzbekistan by 2030.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to visit the Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Center at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies during his stay.
Following his time in Tashkent, Modi will travel to Bishkek at the invitation of Kyrgyz Republic President Sadir Japarov to participate in the 26th SCO Summit, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, of which India has been a full member since 2017.
At the summit, Modi will address the attendees, highlighting India’s priorities regarding security, connectivity, and opportunities. He will also hold bilateral meetings with SCO leaders and participate in the opening ceremony of the sixth World Nomad Games, celebrating Central Asia’s rich cultural heritage.
