Lucknow, June 22: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at a coaching center in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, which resulted in the loss of student lives and injuries to several others.
The organization described the event as heartbreaking, unfortunate, and concerning, suggesting that it appears to be a consequence of negligence regarding fire safety standards, lack of regular inspections, and administrative carelessness.
The ABVP stated that the untimely demise of students pursuing their education reflects a severe failure of safety measures and regulatory frameworks. They emphasized that students are the future of the nation, and any disregard for safety standards in coaching institutions, hostels, and educational campuses is unacceptable.
The organization has called on the Uttar Pradesh government and administration to conduct a high-level, impartial, and timely investigation into the incident. They also demanded that strict legal action be taken against any individuals, institutions, or officials found directly or indirectly responsible for the tragedy.
Additionally, the ABVP has urged for a special fire safety audit of coaching centers, hostels, and other educational institutions across the state. They insisted that immediate punitive measures be taken against institutions violating safety standards to prevent such incidents in the future.
In the aftermath of the incident, ABVP workers have mobilized to assist affected students and their families. The organization has released helpline numbers for emergency assistance, coordination, and necessary information. They assured that their volunteers would be available to support relief and assistance efforts.
ABVP National Minister Abhay Pratap Singh remarked that the incident in Aliganj has shaken the entire student community. He paid tribute to the deceased students, stating that compromising on the safety of students’ lives is unacceptable. If negligence regarding fire safety standards or administrative carelessness led to this tragedy, strict action should be taken against those responsible.
Arpan Kushwaha, ABVP’s Awadh Province Minister, stated that this is not merely an accident but a result of neglecting safety standards and the failure of responsible authorities. He asserted that those who jeopardize students’ lives should not be spared at any cost, and a comprehensive review of safety measures across all educational campuses in the state is necessary.
