Global Online Yoga Event Set for June 14: Over 130 Countries Expected to Participate

New Delhi, June 14: In preparation for International Yoga Day 2026, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and Habuild, will host a historic global online yoga event on June 14, 2026. The aim of this initiative is to set a new world record for the ‘most viewers’ on a YouTube live yoga stream, bringing together yoga practitioners and wellness enthusiasts from around the globe on a digital platform.

The Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, along with senior officials from the Ministry, will participate in this initiative. The joint effort will be conducted from the residence of the central minister, showcasing the ministry’s commitment to promoting wellness through yoga.

This initiative is designed to highlight yoga’s universal appeal and its growing acceptance in promoting overall health and wellness. Through public engagement, the event aims to reinforce the message that yoga is a lifestyle that transcends geographical, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.

The online yoga sessions are scheduled from 6:15 AM to 7:35 AM (IST) and are expected to see participation from over 130 countries, making it one of the largest global digital yoga conferences to date.

Participants from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and regions will unite in a shared commitment to health, harmony, and wellness.

This event is a key part of the outreach activities leading up to International Yoga Day 2026. By leveraging digital technology and global connectivity, this initiative aims to expand yoga’s reach and encourage greater public participation in practice worldwide.

Individuals interested in participating can register online through a dedicated portal or by giving a missed call to 1800-315-7008.

Notably, all registered participants who join the event will receive a digital participation certificate sent to their registered WhatsApp number.

The Ministry of AYUSH has called upon citizens, yoga practitioners, educational institutions, wellness organizations, community groups, and the Indian diaspora worldwide to join this event and contribute to this historic global effort.

This program is expected to further strengthen India’s leadership in the global wellness movement and reaffirm the ongoing relevance of yoga in creating healthier and more resilient societies.
