Mumbai, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, BJP leader Kripashankar Singh emphasized the festival’s expansion beyond Maharashtra and India, noting its observance in countries like London and the USA. He highlighted that the festival now symbolizes social unity and national pride, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.
Singh remarked on the historical significance of public Ganesh celebrations initiated by Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, aimed at uniting people against social evils. Today, these celebrations continue to inspire prayers for the nation’s strength and prosperity.
He also acknowledged Maharashtra’s pivotal role in India’s social reforms and constitutional development, recalling figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Singh expressed pride in India’s hosting of the BRICS summit, asserting that under Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership, India’s global reputation has been significantly enhanced. He noted the participation of leaders from China, Russia, and Iran, emphasizing India’s growing importance on the international stage.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the BRICS dinner menu, Singh criticized the opposition for focusing on trivial matters instead of the conference’s outcomes. He urged that while dissent is a democratic right, it should be raised in appropriate forums like Parliament.
Singh also referenced the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the concerns raised by opposition leaders about its consequences did not materialize. He framed the decision as being in the national interest, advocating for political unity on crucial issues.
Supporting the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Singh argued for equal legal frameworks across the nation, highlighting Dr. Ambedkar’s role in drafting the Constitution. He stressed the need for discussions aimed at establishing a uniform legal system rather than separate laws for different communities.
Addressing the recent controversies surrounding the Indian women’s cricket team’s Asia Cup victory, Singh called for prioritizing national interests over individual sentiments. He urged all political leaders to engage in constructive dialogue in legislative assemblies regarding their disagreements with the government.
Singh expressed concern for the youth, stating that all political parties share the responsibility of guiding the nation positively. He advocated for healthy democratic discourse that fosters dialogue among the younger generation.
