Mumbai, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Sunita Ahuja, wife of actor Govinda, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi by welcoming Lord Ganesha into her home. She shared that this tradition began with Govinda’s mother and that she intends to continue it. During a media interaction, Sunita explained the significance of the festival.
“My mother-in-law started celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at our old office. Since then, it’s become a tradition, and as long as I live, I will bring Gajanan home. This practice will continue because Lord Ganesha is our first deity; there is no one greater,” she stated.
Reflecting on the past year, Sunita expressed gratitude for the blessings she has received from Ganesha. “Last year, I started my YouTube channel, and this time I participated in two shows, ‘Maa Hai Na’ and ‘Lockup-2’. The most exciting news is that I have a film coming out with my son, directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Ekta Kapoor. Ganesha has blessed me with fame and respect. This festival is very special to me, and I welcomed Ganesha with dance and song,” she added.
Sunita shared that she keeps the idol for a day and a half. “Gajanan stays with us for one and a half days. During this time, we invite all our close friends and family. We celebrate with music and dance, and we prepare satvik food. Ganesha loves modaks and other offerings. Now that Gajanan is here, we must keep celebrating. Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, and I hope he clears all hurdles from my life and brings happiness to my family.”
She also mentioned her commitment to promoting her son’s upcoming film. “Just as you have always loved Govinda and our family, I hope you extend that same love and support to my son,” she said.
