Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh Meets Union Ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda

New Delhi, June 6: In a significant political development, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday in New Delhi. This meeting comes amid dissatisfaction regarding the appointment of Singh Dhillon as the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, which has sparked rumors of Singh’s potential departure from the party.

Following his discussion with Amit Shah, Singh also met with Union Health Minister and former BJP president JP Nadda. In a post on the social media platform X, Singh mentioned that he had a productive meeting with Shah, where various issues concerning Punjab were discussed.

In another post, he highlighted his meeting with JP Nadda, stating that they discussed several matters related to Punjab. Responding to Singh’s post, Nadda confirmed their meeting and noted that they addressed multiple political issues, including those pertinent to Punjab.

It is noteworthy that the BJP appointed Singh Dhillon as the new state president on May 28, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab in 2027. Dhillon replaced Sunil Jakhar, who was seen as the party’s prominent Hindu face in the state.

Singh expressed his concerns regarding the lack of consultation from the party leadership before Dhillon’s appointment. Nevertheless, he congratulated Dhillon in his social media post, wishing him success in strengthening the party across Punjab.
