New Delhi, June 6: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the BJP government on Saturday in response to the escalating water crisis in the capital. The demonstration took place in the Karol Bagh area, led by local MLA Vishesh Ravi.
During the protest, party workers and local residents smashed clay pots to voice their discontent against the BJP government, demanding sufficient and clean drinking water in the region.
A large number of participants expressed their frustration over the ongoing water supply issues. Residents reported that their water supply has been severely affected for the past month and a half, disrupting daily life. The shortage has compounded difficulties during the hot season.
MLA Vishesh Ravi criticized the BJP government, stating that a serious water crisis has persisted in Delhi for over a month. He alleged that residents are not receiving adequate water even once a day, and when inquiries are made to the relevant authorities, no satisfactory answers are provided.
Ravi pointed out that despite the presence of a “four-engine government” led by the BJP in Delhi, basic necessities like water are not being provided. He remarked that statements from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta suggest that the administration is relying on divine intervention. The public is struggling for fundamental services, yet the government appears indifferent to resolving the issue.
He emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to voicing the concerns of the public. The clay pot-smashing protest is part of this ongoing struggle. He warned that if the water crisis is not addressed in the coming days, the party would escalate their protests.
Vishesh Ravi affirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party will fight for the rights of the people, from the streets to the assembly, and will compel the BJP government to ensure that residents of Delhi receive adequate and regular water supply.
