Mumbai, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Satish Salian, the father of the late Disha Salian, remains undeterred as he prepares to deliver a defamation notice to Aditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT). Disha, who was the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, tragically died after falling from a multi-story building in Malad, Mumbai, on June 8, 2020. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating her case.
Speaking to reporters, Satish stated, “I am not afraid of any Shiv Sainik. They are human beings, and so am I. Being from Mumbai, I have no reason to fear anyone.” He expressed confidence in the judicial process, asserting that justice would ultimately prevail and that those responsible would face consequences.
Reports indicate that Satish plans to visit Thackeray’s residence, ‘Matoshree’, to serve the notice. He has informed the Mumbai police and media about his intentions through a press release and has requested police protection for his visit.
This action comes shortly after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI investigation into Disha’s death and directed the agency to register a First Information Report (FIR). The court emphasized that no one should be deemed a suspect until sufficient evidence is presented during the investigation.
The upcoming notice pertains to social media posts made by Thackeray and is being pursued separately from the ongoing criminal case. According to reports, Satish is seeking ₹500 crore in damages from Thackeray and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for comments made regarding the new investigation into his daughter’s death. The notice demands both compensation and an apology.
Initially classified as an accidental death by police in 2020, Disha’s passing occurred just six days before Sushant Singh Rajput’s own tragic demise.
