Mumbai, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande expressed her support for Disha Salian‘s father on Saturday, raising serious questions about the actions of police officials during the investigation into the incident that occurred in June 2020. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to undermine other political parties, prompting a rebuttal from Kayande.
Kayande emphasized the emotional turmoil faced by Salian’s father, stating, “A father’s anger is justified. He continues to fight for justice for his daughter even after her death. His accusations suggest a strong belief that certain individuals have dishonored his daughter and may have contributed to her demise.”
In response to another query, Kayande stated that the matter transcends party politics. The critical issue at hand is whether the police fulfilled their duties, whether the investigative agencies conducted their work properly, and whether forensic officials performed their roles effectively. She questioned if there was an attempt by the police and the Home Ministry to conceal information. “Whether it’s CCTV footage or other significant details, their lawyer is openly discussing these matters across various media channels,” she noted. If it is deemed necessary for Satish Salian to have police protection, the government will surely provide it.
Addressing Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, Kayande asserted that his claims are entirely unfounded. “He is unable to manage his party or his people effectively.” Regarding the Trinamool Congress’s name and election symbol, she remarked that this is a judicial process, and decisions are made based on the Election Commission’s findings. She also indicated that the questions raised by the opposition regarding the Election Commission appear to be an attempt to exert political pressure.
