Shiv Sena (UBT) Backs India Blocs Meeting with President Murmu

New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has expressed its full support for the India Bloc’s proposed meeting with President Droupadi Murmu. Party leaders Sanjay Raut and Arvind Sawant wrote a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, reaffirming their solidarity with the coalition’s initiative.

In the letter, they stated that the party stands firmly behind the leadership of the India Bloc and the campaign led by Rahul Gandhi. They also supported efforts to highlight allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner and those responsible in the BJP government for undermining democratic and constitutional institutions.

Due to previously scheduled commitments related to the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, the party leaders will be unable to attend the meeting with the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday night. They have requested Kharge to convey their apologies for this absence.

The letter urged Kharge to inform the President of the party’s complete unity and support for the India Bloc. Shiv Sena (UBT) reiterated its commitment to standing with the coalition in the fight to protect democracy and the Constitution.

It is noteworthy that the opposition has been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for several days. Allegations suggest that voters’ names were improperly removed from the electoral rolls during the Special Investigation Report (SIR). Consequently, protests by the opposition have been ongoing, with more demonstrations planned in the coming days, coinciding with the scheduled meeting of opposition leaders with President Murmu.
