In a statement, Singh also inaugurated a self-ticketing kiosk at the zoo, designed to improve navigation for visitors and simplify online ticket booking.
During his visit, he toured an exhibition showcasing creative works by students who participated in the recently concluded Summer Vacation Program 2026. He praised the creativity of the young participants and commended zoo officials for organizing educational and awareness programs that foster a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation among students.
The launch of the ‘NZP Companion App’ and the self-ticketing kiosk marks a significant step towards enhancing visitor convenience and embracing digital transformation at the National Zoo.
Available on both Android and iOS platforms, the app features an interactive digital map and a smart navigation system, enabling visitors to locate animal enclosures, restrooms, buggy points, exits, and other facilities.
The app also offers themed tours, including express tours, family tours, grand zoo tours, and personalized ‘My Tour’ options.
Self-ticketing kiosks will facilitate online ticket booking through UPI-based digital payments, and free Wi-Fi connectivity will be available for on-site ticket purchases.
Following the inauguration, Minister Singh held a meeting with officials and section heads to review ongoing initiatives and discuss strategies for the overall enhancement, modernization, and efficient management of the National Zoo.
He also inspected aviaries and reviewed summer management arrangements for the bird collection. Singh assessed the condition of enclosures and provided suggestions for further improvements in animal welfare and habitat management.
