New Delhi, June 7: Goa’s Chief Minister Promod Sawant held several important meetings with central ministers in New Delhi to discuss issues related to the state’s development, education, and infrastructure. During these meetings, he met with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared on the social media platform ‘X’ that he had a meaningful and positive discussion with Chief Minister Sawant. The meeting specifically focused on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and enhancing skill development opportunities for the youth of Goa.
Pradhan emphasized the need for strengthening mutual cooperation to promote quality education and better human resource development in the state.
It is noteworthy that the National Education Policy 2020 is a significant initiative aimed at bringing comprehensive changes to India’s education system. This policy is based on five key pillars: access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability. It promotes multidisciplinary education, vocational training, and academic flexibility.
Earlier, the Union Education Minister also reviewed the implementation of NEP 2020 with the vice-chancellors of central universities. The aim was to assess the progress of universities towards realizing the vision of ‘Developed India 2047.’
According to information released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Chief Minister Dr. Promod Sawant also met with Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
Additionally, Chief Minister Sawant had an interaction with Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. On ‘X,’ Sawant mentioned that the meeting covered discussions on railway and infrastructure projects in Goa, as well as initiatives in the information technology and telecommunications sectors. He specifically raised the issue of collaboration for the Tum EMC project and expressed gratitude for the positive response received from the central minister.
