Empowering Rural Women: Yogi Governments New Dairy Model Utilizes Technology

Lucknow, May 8: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the initiative to empower rural women is entering a new technological phase. Through the ‘Samarthya Dairy Producer Company,’ women in the Awadh region and surrounding ten districts will now manage milk production, collection, and payment systems using modern technology and mobile applications. This initiative aims to digitally connect over four lakh liters of daily milk trade.

The transparent dairy network established during Yogi’s government is becoming a new strength for the rural economy. More than 125,000 women have been linked to this network, taking on responsibilities not only for milk production but also for technical management.

The Samarthya Dairy Producer Company has set up milk collection centers in villages, where milk is purchased at fair prices directly from farmers. These centers are operated by women, providing local employment opportunities while alleviating market uncertainties for livestock owners. The Yogi government has ensured that the payment system is entirely transparent. Women farmers receive payments directly into their bank accounts three times a month, with ten-day intervals, effectively reducing the role of middlemen.

The network spans several districts, including Lucknow, Ayodhya, Raebareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Unnao, Pratapgarh, Kanpur Nagar, and Fatehpur. To fully digitize the dairy business, a mobile app named ‘Samarthya Saathi’ has been launched. This app provides dairy producers with real-time sales data, payment information, quality checks, and other essential updates. Connecting rural women with technology is not just a convenience; it is a significant means of economic empowerment. Digital training and technical awareness programs are also being conducted at the village level.

With the entire process—from quality checks to payments—being technology-based, the trust among dairy producers is rapidly increasing. Rural women are no longer limited to livestock management; they are now also monitoring data, payments, and digital records independently. This initiative by the Yogi government is not only enhancing women’s participation in the rural economy but also strengthening the ‘Self-Reliant Village’ model. The dairy revolution is now reaching from village squares to mobile screens.
