Efforts Underway to Clean the Yamuna River: Satish Upadhyay Highlights Initiatives

New Delhi, June 14: The Delhi government has launched the ‘Maa Yamuna River Bank Cleaning Campaign’ at 28 ghats. BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay participated in this initiative.

While taking part in the campaign, he stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, various service initiatives are being conducted across Delhi. Efforts in cleanliness and tree plantation are being carried out in different areas. Additionally, outreach programs are being organized to connect with the community.

He emphasized that the campaign for the rejuvenation of the life-giving Yamuna is not merely a photo opportunity. He noted that Prime Minister Modi has instilled confidence in the nation regarding these efforts.

Mamta Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Shahdara North, mentioned, “Today, under the directives of the Delhi Chief Minister, the Yamuna cleaning campaign is being conducted in districts along the river. In our MCD zone, five locations have over 100 staff members and 12-13 vehicles deployed at each site.”

Central Minister and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party, along with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, has taken on this responsibility. Numerous volunteer organizations are currently engaged in cleaning the Yamuna at 28 different locations across Delhi.

BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia remarked that today, under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the entire cabinet, all seven MPs from Delhi, BJP MLAs, municipal councilors, and thousands of party workers have united for the Yamuna cleaning campaign.

Meanwhile, Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma participated in the Yamuna cleaning campaign at ITO Hathi Ghat.
