District Magistrate Reviews Forest Land Transfer Cases for National Security in Uttarkashi

New Delhi, June 7: In a bid to enhance national security and accelerate infrastructure development in the border areas of Uttarkashi district, District Magistrate Prashant Arya reviewed forest land transfer cases related to various military projects. The meeting assessed the progress of pending proposals and instructed relevant departments to act swiftly in coordination with each other.

Senior officials from the revenue department, forest department, and military participated in the meeting. They engaged in detailed discussions regarding the status of various proposals linked to defense projects. The District Magistrate emphasized the necessity of timely resolution of national security matters, given the sensitivity of border areas.

He urged officials to promptly address any administrative or technical hurdles to prevent unnecessary delays in the projects. The meeting particularly focused on land-related matters for the construction of military outposts and access routes. The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to complete ground inspections of the proposed sites as soon as possible and submit reports within the stipulated time. He stated that improving connectivity and infrastructure in border areas is crucial for national security.

Forest department officials were instructed to prioritize the resolution of forest land approval cases. Additionally, where land is needed for compensatory afforestation, they were advised to collaborate with the revenue department to identify land quickly, ensuring no hindrance in the approval process.

District Magistrate Prashant Arya reiterated that safeguarding the country’s borders is of utmost priority, and providing better facilities to soldiers stationed in border areas is the government’s responsibility. He called on all departments to play an active role in matters related to defense projects and to complete tasks in a timely manner.

During the meeting, it was also decided that various departments would maintain regular coordination to expedite land transfers and other processes necessary for defense projects. The administration aims to ensure that all significant development and security-related tasks in border areas are completed within the designated time frame.
