New Delhi, July 22: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is set to hold a crucial meeting in Ayodhya on Wednesday amidst ongoing disputes regarding the misappropriation of donations for the Ram Temple. The agenda will focus on administrative reforms, including the appointment of the trust’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and filling three vacant positions within the trust. However, sources indicate that a final decision on the CEO appointment is unlikely, as the screening process for applicants is still incomplete.
According to insiders, a three-member expert committee tasked with recommending candidates for the CEO position has received numerous applications, making it challenging to complete the screening process within the designated timeframe.
As a result, it seems improbable that the committee will submit a final shortlist of three candidates before the trust’s meeting, leading to delays in selecting the temple’s first professional CEO.
The decision to create the CEO position was made during the trust’s meeting on July 6, following allegations of theft concerning temple donations. At that time, the trust resolved to strengthen temple management, enhance financial transparency, improve security arrangements, and streamline facilities for devotees by establishing a professional administrative structure.
Once appointed, the CEO will be responsible for the temple’s daily operations, implementing management decisions, and overseeing staff. With the trust’s approval, the CEO will also have the authority to appoint a secretary and other essential personnel for the temple’s operations.
In addition to the CEO appointment, the trust is discussing filling three vacant positions. One position became available following the passing of former trustee and head of the Ayodhya royal family, Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, while the other two vacancies arose after the resignations of former General Secretary Champat Rai and former trustee Dr. Anil Mishra.
Sources suggest that Krishna Mohan is currently the frontrunner to become the trust’s permanent secretary. Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing regarding the vacant trustee positions, with names such as VHP National General Secretary B.L. Bangda reportedly being considered.
The outcomes of the trust’s discussions are expected to shape the future administrative framework of the Ram Temple, as the trust seeks to enhance its operations and accountability in light of recent controversies.
