Lucknow, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : BJP’s chief spokesperson, Dinesh Pratap Singh, addressed recent political developments in Uttar Pradesh, particularly focusing on Mayawati’s decision to expel Akash Anand from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Akhilesh Yadav’s controversial AI-generated video. Speaking in Lucknow on September 10, Singh labeled Mayawati’s actions as internal matters of her party and took aim at both Yadav and the Congress party with several political accusations.
Singh remarked that Yadav appears to have no substantial work at hand, as he is seldom seen outside the realms of social media and press conferences. He suggested that Yadav’s dissatisfaction stems from the developmental initiatives undertaken by the BJP and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration.
On the topic of the AI videos produced by Yadav’s office, Singh expressed disapproval, claiming these videos are often met with laughter from party members, including Yadav himself. He emphasized that critiques of the Yogi government should focus on policies and issues rather than engaging in trivial political maneuvers.
Singh also addressed the cancellation of Yadav’s planned visit to Bulandshahr. He mentioned having spoken directly with the district magistrate, who reported that the helipad at the police line was deemed unsafe for landings due to ongoing construction and recent rains. Singh suggested that Yadav’s comments regarding the National Lok Dal and Jat community have created a climate of fear within his party regarding public backlash.
He highlighted that the cancellation of the Bulandshahr event follows a similar incident in Saharanpur, predicting that the political climate for the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh will remain unfavorable until 2027.
Regarding the IRCTC case, Singh criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, stating that allegations of corruption against them are not new. The court has officially charged Lalu, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, and others, with the next hearing scheduled soon. Singh reaffirmed the BJP’s respect for the judiciary and constitutional institutions, asserting that if the Yadav family has committed wrongdoings, they must face the consequences.
In response to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s remarks about “Vande Mataram,” Singh offered his support, declaring the song a symbol of the nation’s struggle for independence. He accused the Congress and other opposition parties of opposing it for political gain, while praising Abdullah for advocating adherence to constitutional norms.
Singh concluded by stating that Mayawati’s decision regarding Akash Anand is entirely her prerogative as BSP leader, emphasizing that the BJP does not interfere in the internal matters of other political parties.
