Mumbai, April 14: Protests by workers in Noida over wage increases have intensified political rhetoric. On Tuesday, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav targeted the Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of ignoring the plight of the people. She stated that if citizens are distressed, it is natural for them to become agitated.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav expressed her disappointment: “It is very disheartening. The government should listen to the workers, but the current administration ignores their concerns and even resorts to violence. This government is causing suffering for everyone.”
Regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, Yadav mentioned, “Discussion on this bill will begin on April 16. The bill has already been passed, so why is it being introduced again with changes? Why is the government using the 2011 census? When they initially presented the bill, they promised a caste-based census. Why is that not being conducted, which would allow for proper delimitation and an increase in seats? We want a new census in the country that can guide delimitation and reservation.”
She further criticized the BJP for its tactics before elections, recalling the demonetization initiative before the 2017 elections, which was presented as a solution to black money and terrorism. “Serious terrorist incidents have continued, whether in Pulwama or Pahalgam,” she added.
Wishing everyone a happy Ambedkar Jayanti, Yadav remarked, “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar has always been a socialist. He advocated for the rights of the backward, Dalit, and oppressed communities. The socialist ideology aligns closely with Ambedkar’s principles. The BJP has been in power for three terms and has consistently exploited the people. They have demolished temples and idols during elections. Today, they must be realizing their mistakes. Socialists have always been connected to Ambedkar’s ideology.”
