Akhilesh Yadav Honors Ambedkar, Vows to Protect Constitution

Lucknow, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday, Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, paid tribute by laying a wreath at his statue in Hazratganj, Lucknow.

During the ceremony, Yadav reaffirmed the party’s commitment to safeguarding the Constitution. Speaking to the media afterward, he emphasized that Ambedkar’s fight for social justice against centuries of oppression remains relevant today.

Yadav stated that socialists will continue to strive for social justice, regardless of how long it takes. He criticized the BJP, pointing out that during the Lok Sabha elections, BJP leaders had suggested changing the Constitution if they won 400 seats.

He noted that the people of Uttar Pradesh and the nation voted against the BJP to protect the Constitution and democracy, ensuring its safety. Yadav described Ambedkar’s Constitution not merely as a document but as a “sword of steel” that provides security, justice, and equal opportunities.

He also accused the BJP government of damaging Ambedkar’s statues in several locations. Yadav claimed that incidents occurred in 50 districts, yet the government failed to take decisive action. He remarked that during elections, the BJP misleads the public with various announcements and budgets, but the people of the state have now recognized their “deception and conspiracy” and will not be swayed.
