AK Sharma Takes Firm Action Against Negligent Officials in Uttar Pradeshs Sambhav Initiative

Lucknow, April 14: Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Urban Development and Energy, AK Sharma, showcased a transparent and accountable governance model through the “Sambhav” online complaint resolution system. During a late-night public hearing in Mau, he addressed over 100 complaints on the spot, emphasizing that negligence in public service will not be tolerated at any level.

Minister Sharma conducted a statewide online public hearing at the multipurpose building “Mangalma” in Mau. During this event, more than 100 consumers and complainants from various districts presented their issues directly to the minister and senior officials, ensuring immediate resolution. The “Sambhav” platform facilitates direct interaction between complainants and officials, enhancing transparency and eliminating delays in problem-solving.

The minister stated that this system has become an effective and reliable platform for public welfare. During the hearing, he adopted a strict stance on negligence, issuing immediate directives for action in several cases. In Barabanki, he ordered the removal of a lineman for creating incorrect estimates, suspended a Junior Engineer, and directed action against the Executive Engineer, including a transfer.

Additionally, he called for strict action against negligent officials in districts like Azamgarh, Bareilly, and Agra. In Maharajganj, he instructed the suspension of the concerned officer for failing to provide connections despite estimates being submitted. He clarified that providing timely services to consumers is a primary responsibility of the department in cases from Bareilly and Meerut. In a case from Varanasi, he directed swift resolution after obtaining legal advice, while emphasizing the need to address billing issues related to smart meters in Unnao.

The Energy Minister instructed officials to inspect and take corrective measures for the electricity supply in Jhansi, Kushinagar, Siddharthnagar, and Mathura. He highlighted that ensuring uninterrupted power supply in faith centers like Mathura should be a priority.

At the conclusion of the public hearing, the minister directed that electricity supply should be ensured according to the roster, unnecessary cuts in the evening should be completely halted, and a public awareness campaign should be launched to dispel myths regarding smart meters. Many complainants praised the “Sambhav” initiative, calling it an effective and transparent platform for public welfare.
