Diesel Tanker Overturns in Washim, Driver Rescued After 45-Minute Operation

Washim, May 24: A major accident was narrowly avoided in Washim district, Maharashtra. A diesel-laden tanker overturned near Takshashila College on the Karanja-Murtijapur road.

Reports indicate that the tanker was en route to Wardha district when the driver lost control, leading to the incident. The accident was severe enough that the driver became trapped beneath the cabin of the tanker. Additionally, the continuous diesel leak posed a risk of explosion at the scene.

Upon receiving the news, local police quickly arrived and initiated a rescue operation. With the help of a crane, the rescue lasted approximately 45 minutes, after which the driver was safely extracted and transported to a hospital. The police have since cleared the tanker from the road, allowing traffic to resume. Currently, there is no official information regarding the driver or the tanker owner. Authorities confirmed that the driver was rescued in time and that the tanker has been secured, with the diesel leak successfully halted. Efforts are underway to contact the tanker owner.

It is noteworthy that on May 1, a similar incident occurred in Motihari, Bihar, where a tanker filled with oil overturned. In Sugouli, on the Chapwa-Raxaul main road, a soybean oil tanker lost control and overturned near Bangra village. Following the incident, crowds gathered, bringing buckets and containers to collect the spilled oil. Videos captured the chaotic scene, showing villagers filling their containers from the overturned tanker, leading to pushing and shoving among them. Police later arrived to control the crowd and manage the situation.
