
New Delhi, February 27: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a state-of-the-art double-decker electric tourist bus service, ‘Dekho Meri Dilli’, from Rafi Marg on Friday.
An official stated that the fare for the bus is ₹500 plus 5% GST. Children aged five to ten will be charged ₹300 plus 5% GST, while children under five can travel for free.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this 63-seater bus, equipped with modern amenities, advanced safety systems, and a panoramic upper deck, promises a comfortable and memorable journey for tourists.
Alongside Delhi’s Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, the Chief Minister inaugurated the double-decker bus, showcasing it as a successful example of the government’s long-term policy and public-private partnership (PPP) model.
This special tourism circuit, initiated by the Delhi Tourism Department in collaboration with the Hinduja Group, will start from Delhi Haat, INA, with daily departures at 9 AM.
The route will cover significant landmarks including Vijay Chowk, Rashtrapati Bhavan, North Block, South Block, the National Museum, National Gallery of Modern Art, Prime Minister’s Museum, National War Memorial, and India Gate, before returning to Delhi Haat, INA.
After the bus unveiling, the Chief Minister, Tourism Minister, media representatives, and officials boarded the bus, traveling from Rafi Marg to the Prime Minister’s Museum via India Gate, Akbar Road, and Teen Murti Marg.
Tickets for the bus can be booked online through the official Delhi Tourism website. Offline tickets are available at several locations, including the Central Reservation Office, Coffee Home, and Indira Gandhi International Airport (Domestic Terminal 1).
The Chief Minister stated that this initiative is a significant step towards establishing Delhi as a modern and world-class tourism destination.
She emphasized that with its rich historical heritage, Delhi is creating a new global identity through modern landmarks such as Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, the New Parliament Building, Central Vista, and the Prime Minister’s Museum.
The bus service will offer tourists a comprehensive experience of both Delhi’s heritage and modernity in a single journey.
