New Delhi, August 9: The Delhi Police has recognized 16 student innovators for their contributions to developing technology solutions under the ‘Delhi Police Summer Internship Program 2026.’
On Saturday, a ceremony was held at the police headquarters where Delhi Police Commissioner IPS Anurag Kumar honored these young innovators for successfully creating solutions beneficial to citizens.
Launched on June 8, this internship aims to foster collaboration between the Delhi Police and leading educational institutions. It received an overwhelming response, with over 400 applications from students across top universities and technical institutes in the country. After a rigorous selection process, 16 students from IIT Delhi, Delhi Technological University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Jamia Hamdard, Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, and other prominent universities were chosen.
Under the supervision of officials from the Delhi Police’s Tech and Project Implementation Division, the interns developed four actionable solutions. These solutions are expected to enhance administrative efficiency, streamline internal processes, strengthen citizen services, and support the Delhi Police’s digital transformation initiatives by adopting AI-based solutions.
Addressing the young interns, Commissioner Anurag Kumar congratulated them for their dedication, innovation, and technical excellence. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the education sector and police in developing technology-based solutions for modern policing.
All 16 interns received certificates of appreciation and mementos for their outstanding contributions.
The successful conclusion of the ‘Delhi Police Summer Internship Program 2026’ marks a significant achievement for the Delhi Police. It represents a step towards strengthening collaboration with the education sector and leveraging the expertise of young minds to develop practical technology solutions. Besides exposing students to real-world policing challenges, this program has produced software solutions that will contribute to the modernization and digital transformation of the Delhi Police.
