Raipur, June 13: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has successfully thwarted a significant Naxalite conspiracy in Chhattisgarh during a coordinated anti-Naxal operation. Officials reported on Saturday that a substantial cache of weapons and explosives was recovered during the operation.
Following intelligence reports, the CRPF launched an operation in the dense forests surrounding the villages of Adri, Harra, and Madumpara in the Bijapur district. Security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search, uncovering a large stockpile of arms and explosives.
Among the recovered items were a barrel grenade launcher (BGL) rifle, an 8mm rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and 21 improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The forces also found materials for making IEDs, including cordex wire, safety fuses, electric wire, air gun rounds, and various electronic devices.
Additionally, 58 different items, including clothing used by Naxalites, were seized. Officials stated that this recovery has successfully disrupted a major plot aimed at destabilizing the region.
The areas of Adri, Harra, and Madumpara have long been considered strongholds of Naxalite activity. However, ongoing operations by the CRPF have gradually diminished the rebels’ influence, boosting the confidence of local residents and paving the way for developmental initiatives.
In a parallel operation in the Gariaband district, CRPF and police teams discovered another suspected Naxalite hideout in the Dandipani forest. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) confirmed the presence of explosives, including a 4-kilogram pressure IED and a cooker IED, both of which were safely neutralized.
Police officials reported the seizure of a shotgun, interceptor, UBGHL rounds, magazines, cordex wire, gunpowder, firecrackers, medicines, and everyday items.
