India Aims to Become the Worlds Innovation Partner, Emphasizes Global Tech Partnerships: Piyush Goyal

Nice, June 14: India is working to deepen partnerships in emerging global technology and transform itself into the world’s innovation partner. This information was shared by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday.

Speaking at the inauguration of the India Innovates Summit in Nice, France, Goyal stated that the goal of ‘India Innovates‘ is to serve as a global accelerator for India’s innovation ecosystem and to establish India as a reliable innovation partner for the world.

Goyal remarked, “The year 2026 is being celebrated as the India-France Innovation Year, providing the right environment for this initiative. We are meeting at a time of uncertainty, marked by significant geopolitical changes and advancements in new technologies.”

Highlighting the growing strategic partnership between India and France, Goyal noted that this year, both countries have elevated their relationship to the status of a ‘special global strategic partnership.’

He mentioned that both nations are collaborating to shape global discourse on innovation and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Union Minister recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi co-chaired the AI Action Summit in Paris in February 2025, while French President Emmanuel Macron participated in the AI Impact Summit with India in February 2026.

Goyal urged his French counterparts to seize this opportunity to create meaningful partnerships. He also invited his French friends to visit India, invest, design, innovate, and manufacture, to tap into India’s vast domestic market and export to the rest of the world.

The ‘India Innovates’ Summit was jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi and President Macron.

This event brings together startups, investors, entrepreneurs, technology leaders, and policymakers from India, France, and other countries to explore new opportunities for innovation, investment, and collaboration.
