New Delhi, June 14: A political uproar has erupted following the Congress government’s decision to raise entry fees for wildlife parks in Himachal Pradesh. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari targeted the increased fees for wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, claiming that the state’s economic situation has become dire, burdened by heavy debt.
In an interview with a news agency, Bhandari accused Rahul Gandhi of promoting a detrimental economic model. He stated that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh is exploiting the public, describing Gandhi’s economic approach as “dark.”
He remarked, “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Khatta-Khat’ economic model has plunged Himachal Pradesh into darkness, and the Congress government is robbing the people of the state. The government has raised the entry fees for wildlife sanctuaries and forest areas for Indian citizens by up to 100%.”
Bhandari highlighted that the Chief Minister has publicly stated that Himachal Pradesh is over one lakh crore in debt. He pointed out that the state government lacks funds for essential services like road and school construction, and is struggling to pay employee salaries.
He also noted that the Himachal Pradesh government recently increased bus fares by 15%. The public is discussing the electricity scam, and Bhandari criticized the previous Congress government for imposing a cess and tax on milk. He emphasized that the Congress government is burdening the people of Himachal Pradesh with inflation and corruption while failing to fulfill Rahul Gandhi’s false electoral promises.
Indeed, the debt-ridden Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has raised entry fees for wildlife parks and sanctuaries from 150 to 300 rupees for Indian tourists. This decision has sparked significant political turmoil and criticism of Chief Minister Sukhu’s government’s financial management.
