Mandsaur, 23 August (Kiran News). Rainfall has continued in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh for the past three to four days, with showers varying from heavy to light. By Saturday morning, Mandsaur had recorded 23.87 inches of rain, while the water level of Gandhi Sagar Dam reached 1294.96 feet.

Due to ongoing rainfall in the bordering Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan, the water level of the Shivna river has risen. The opening of the gates at Kalabhata Dam has caused the small bridge near Pashupatinath Temple to be submerged. For safety reasons, the administration has put up barricades around the temple and restricted movement in the area. On Saturday, water was flowing 9 feet above the Ramghat Dam. With two gates of Kalabhata Dam open, the water level of Shivna river has continued to increase. Many parts of the district have lost connectivity between villages as small bridges have gone underwater, and the administration is on alert as a precaution.
