New Delhi, August 4: Congress MP Sukdev Bhagat commented on the recent by-election results, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) controversy, and other significant political issues. He stated that the public has shattered the illusions propagated by the BJP government in the Datiya and Bankipur by-elections.
Discussing the BJP’s defeat in the Bankipur by-election, Bhagat remarked, “The BJP’s loss in the stronghold of national president Nitin Naveen proves that the confusion surrounding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance has been dispelled. There is widespread anger and disappointment among the people. This discontent is reflected in the BJP’s losses in Bankipur and Datiya.”
On the acquittal of former MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, Bhagat said, “The court delivers its verdict based on the evidence presented. However, those in power sometimes manipulate evidence for their benefit. Higher judicial platforms like the High Court and Supreme Court are available. Ultimately, I am confident that the truth will prevail.”
Responding to BJP’s allegations regarding the JPSC controversy, Bhagat stated, “The BJP is unaware of the reality and continues to make baseless accusations. I have seen Nishikant Dubey accusing Congress of bias. Importantly, there was no paper leak. There were some errors in the OMR sheets, after which Chief Minister Hemant Soren took immediate action. As soon as the issue arose, the chairman resigned, and 11 individuals were arrested. The CID is currently investigating. However, I believe the government should approach this matter with sensitivity. The Chief Minister should engage in dialogue with the youth and seek solutions through discussions with the protesting students.”
Regarding RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s upcoming conversation with ‘Gen Z’ on August 6, Bhagat commented, “This is a positive development. Dialogue is essential and should always occur. In a democracy, communication holds great significance. However, such discussions should be open and should not involve imposing one’s views on others. Swami Vivekananda advocated for the adoption of new ideas, but considering Bhagwat’s past remarks about ‘Gen Z,’ particularly in the name of culture, I doubt this conversation will be very beneficial.”
