New Delhi, August 4: A special fast-track court has commenced its operations at the Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi to address cases related to paper leaks and irregularities in competitive examinations. The new judge, Ajay Gupta, has officially taken charge of the court.
The court has announced that hearings for cases linked to paper leaks will now occur daily, ensuring that affected students receive timely justice. In this context, Mangilal Bival, Dinesh Bival, and Vikas Bival have submitted a petition requesting polygraph tests, brain mapping, and lie detector tests.
The court has issued a notice regarding this application and has also sought responses from the government and investigative agencies on whether such a petition is worthy of a hearing.
Meanwhile, the hearing on the bail petitions of Dinesh Bival and Vikas Bival has been postponed. The defense attorney stated that they require additional time to review the charge sheet filed in the case. In light of this, the court has scheduled the next hearing. The court will address the issue of acknowledging the charge sheet on August 6.
Previously, on July 25, this special court began its operations in Court Number 408 of the Rouse Avenue Court, with special judge Anu Grover Baliga overseeing the proceedings.
The Delhi High Court established this fast-track court to expedite the hearing of criminal cases related to paper leaks and the misuse of unfair means in public examinations. The primary objective of this court is to resolve such cases swiftly, ensuring that offenders are punished.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a firm stance against the paper leaks in NEET and other competitive examinations, emphasizing that those who jeopardize students’ futures should face immediate hearings and severe penalties.
