
Lucknow, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a significant reshuffle in its police administration, transferring 20 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. This move aims to enhance law and order across the state. Among the changes, police chiefs in several districts, including Jaunpur, Basti, Ballia, and Ghazipur, have been reassigned.
Yashveer Singh has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) for Jaunpur, taking over from Kunwar Anupam Singh, who has been transferred to the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) headquarters in Lucknow. Omveer Singh has moved from Ballia to become the SP of Basti, with Iraz Raja now in charge of Ballia.
Raveena Tyagi has been designated as the SP of Barabanki, while Arpit Vijayvargiya, previously the SP of Barabanki, has been assigned as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Lucknow Police Commissionerate.
Kunwar Gyananjay Singh has been removed from his post as SP of Hapur and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Prayagraj Police Commissionerate. Kamlesh Bahadur has taken over as the SP of Mau, with Vinay Kumar Singh, the former SP of Mau, now heading Ghazipur.
In addition, Suraj Kumar Rai has been appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Police for Muzaffarnagar. Chirag Jain has transitioned from Azamgarh Rural to become the SP of Bareilly City, while Manush Parikh has moved in the opposite direction, taking over as the SP of Azamgarh City.
Sanjay Kumar has been reassigned from his position as SSP of Muzaffarnagar to serve as the Commandant of the 4th PAC Battalion in Prayagraj. Senior-level changes also occurred, with A. Satish Ganesh relieved of additional duties related to crime and retained as Additional Director General of Traffic and Road Safety. Bhagwan S. Srivastava has been tasked with both technical services and additional responsibilities in the crime department.
The reshuffle reflects the government’s strategy to bolster police effectiveness across various districts in Uttar Pradesh.
