Bus Accident on Nashik-Ahmedabad Route Claims Two Lives, Injures Six

Nashik, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : A bus accident occurred on the Nashik-Ahmedabad route near the Sawalghat area in Karanjali, Nashik district, on October 6, 2026. The incident resulted in the deaths of two passengers and left six others injured.

Authorities received notification of the accident at 11 PM. In response, local administration, police, health officials, and medical emergency services promptly initiated rescue operations. Two police inspectors and a sub-divisional police officer were dispatched to the scene to coordinate efforts. All passengers were safely evacuated from the bus, with the injured transported to Nashik for medical treatment via multiple ambulances.

Between 12:30 AM and 2:15 AM, eight individuals were admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital. While seven were treated for injuries, one was brought in deceased. Additionally, another passenger succumbed to injuries as a result of the accident. Currently, two injured individuals remain hospitalized at the civil hospital, while others received initial treatment and were discharged without further hospitalization.

Among the injured, 53-year-old Pramila Raut was admitted to the hospital’s E-ward due to severe injuries. Meanwhile, 65-year-old Bal Vimal Jagdish suffered a fracture in his left humerus and was placed in the MOW ward. Other injured passengers include Yash Desai, Aarti Desai, Nayan Vasone, and Swati Suresh Badane.

The deceased were identified as Rahul Ojha and 48-year-old Mahendra Pal, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nashik Civil Hospital. The authorities are in contact with the families of the deceased to complete necessary legal and administrative procedures.

Preliminary reports indicate that low visibility due to fog and clouds contributed to the accident. Initial investigations by the administration suggest that this reduced visibility was a significant factor, although further inquiries by relevant agencies are ongoing.
