New Delhi, August 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an inspiring message on the social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday. He stated, “Continuous effort and dedication enhance our talents. Today, our youth embody these qualities and are making our country proud worldwide.” Along with this, he shared a Sanskrit verse: “न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते. तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्ध: कालेनात्मनि विन्दति॥”
This verse translates to mean that nothing purifies like knowledge in this world. A practitioner whose heart is thoroughly cleansed through Karma Yoga or dedication can, in due time, experience that ultimate knowledge within their own soul.
On the previous day, Monday, PM Modi shared another verse, stating, “त्याज्यं न धैर्यं विधुरेऽपि दैवे धैर्यात्कदाचित्स्थितिमाप्नुयात्सः. याते समुद्रेऽपि च पोतभङ्गे सांयात्रिको वाञ्छति कर्म एव.” This translates to the idea that even in the face of adversity, one should not lose patience, as it can lead to the recovery of lost favorable circumstances. Just as a skilled sailor continues to strive for survival and swimming even after a shipwreck in the ocean, one must not lose hope.
Earlier, on July 29, Prime Minister Modi extended greetings to the nation on Guru Purnima, stating, “Wishing all citizens a very Happy Guru Purnima. Gurus not only impart knowledge but also instill positive energy in their disciples, educating them with good thoughts and values. Let us make their ideals a support in our lives.”
He also shared a verse on social media: “प्रेरकः सूचकश्चैव वाचको दर्शकस्तथा. शिक्षकः बोधकश्चैव षडेते गुरवः स्मृताः॥” The meaning of this verse highlights the six forms of a guru, who inspires, guides, teaches, and leads individuals towards self-development through knowledge and truth.
