New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Bhutan’s Prime Minister Shering Togbe has referred to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “Vishnu Avatar,” expressing deep admiration for his leadership in a heartfelt letter. In this note, Togbe marked 25 years of Modi’s dedication to public service, revealing why he considers Modi a “big brother.”

Reflecting on past experiences, Togbe recounted a significant meeting with Modi on July 27, 2019, in New Delhi. At that time, his party had just lost the elections in Bhutan, and he was neither a Prime Minister nor a Member of Parliament. He met Modi as an ordinary citizen, expressing gratitude for the support he received during his tenure. Togbe emphasized that he views Modi as a big brother, not merely due to age, but because of the affection Modi has shown him.

Togbe shared his emotional sentiments, stating, “I considered him an incarnation of Vishnu.” He explained that wise rulers in their region have historically been viewed this way. Initially surprised by his own words, Togbe later concluded that recognizing Modi in this manner was indeed appropriate.

He praised Modi’s governance skills, recalling how he observed Modi lead Gujarat for nearly 13 years, setting benchmarks for development, infrastructure, and investment. Togbe noted Modi’s ability to elevate this mindset to a national level, focusing on manufacturing, foreign investment, financial inclusion, sanitation, technology, and infrastructure, all underscored by a commitment to service.

The letter highlighted Modi’s unwavering dedication to the nation. Togbe described him as disciplined, energetic, and exceptionally hardworking. He noted that Modi has instilled a strong sense of pride and ambition among Indians regarding their country’s potential and global standing, qualities he attributes to a wise ruler.

Togbe also referenced Bhutan’s Buddhist tradition, emphasizing the importance of selfless service through wisdom, compassion, and courage. He remarked that these qualities are evident in Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, a century after independence. Togbe believes that Modi has provided India with a clear vision and a national mission.

The letter further elaborated on the concept of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” which reflects the collective aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians for a strong, prosperous nation. Togbe stressed that Modi’s courage and governance are essential for realizing this vision.

In conclusion, Togbe affirmed that Modi’s achievements extend beyond mere political milestones. He has inspired Indians to believe in and work towards a shared vision for the future.
