New Delhi, July 28: The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President, Devendra Yadav, inaugurated a special intensive review (SIR) campaign in Babarpur assembly on Tuesday. He emphasized that the Congress aims to ensure that all eligible citizens can exercise their voting rights and that issues related to the voter list are resolved promptly. Yadav urged party workers to actively assist people during this campaign, which will run until August 8.
In an exclusive conversation with a news agency, Devendra Yadav shared that for the past 25 days, their BLA-2 teams have been visiting homes to help voters fill out forms and address their concerns. Previously, smaller assistance camps were set up at various block levels to provide necessary support to voters. Now, the campaign has expanded to include assistance camps in every block of the Babarpur assembly.
These camps feature trained BLA-2 workers and Congress volunteers who are available to resolve all types of voter-related issues. Yadav explained that if a voter’s name was listed in the 2002 voter list and they are having trouble locating it, or if someone has not yet filled out their form, the camp will facilitate the online application process.
The camps have been established to address the various problems faced by citizens during the campaign. With the support of District Congress Committee President Rajkumar, this initiative is being conducted in each block and will continue until August 8, coinciding with the ongoing SIR process.
Addressing the public earlier, Devendra Yadav highlighted the crucial role of party workers in helping citizens secure their voting rights. He thanked all workers for their efforts and stressed that this campaign should not be limited to just August 8. After the SIR process, a draft of the voter list will be published, followed by a period for claims and objections. Therefore, workers must remain active in assisting the public even after this date.
Yadav suggested that teams of five workers be stationed at designated locations in each assembly area to ensure that as many voters as possible receive assistance, and any issues related to the voter list are resolved swiftly. He reiterated that the Congress is committed to ensuring that no eligible citizen is deprived of their voting rights and that everyone participates in the democratic process.
