New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister and senior Janata Dal (United) leader Rajeev Ranjan, known as Lalan Singh, has criticized the Congress party ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit. He emphasized that India is fully prepared to welcome guests from around the world and urged Congress not to politicize the nation’s dignity.
In a post on social media platform X, Singh stated that India is ready to host representatives from various countries during the summit. He highlighted the country’s long-standing cultural ethos of “Atithi Devo Bhava,” which translates to “the guest is God,” and expressed concern over the remarks made by some Congress leaders that contradict this principle.
Singh specifically called out senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram, suggesting that he should be more mindful of his words, given his previous high-ranking positions in the government. “My advice is that he should refrain from politicizing the nation’s honor,” Singh remarked.
He reiterated that every guest arriving in India is treated like a deity, and under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation is fully equipped to extend a warm welcome.
The 18th BRICS Summit is set to take place in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, where heads of state and high-level delegations from various countries will convene.
In preparation for the summit, extensive security measures have been implemented in the capital. The Delhi Police, in coordination with various central agencies, has deployed approximately 15,000 police personnel and around 200 companies of paramilitary forces.
Manish Kumar Agarwal, Special Police Commissioner of the Protective Security Division, stated that multi-layered security arrangements are in place at key locations, including the India Mandapam, airports, hotels hosting foreign guests, and areas with VVIP movement. He also noted that traffic restrictions will be enforced temporarily during VVIP movements, urging the public to adhere to police traffic advisories.
Additionally, the Delhi Police have imposed strict bans on unauthorized drone flights during the summit. Collaborating with the Indian Air Force and the National Security Guard (NSG), they have established special aerial security measures to effectively address any potential threats.
