Gandhinagar, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has showcased Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s transition from a grassroots party worker to the nation’s leader as a prime example of its worker-centric political culture. This announcement coincides with a month-long campaign celebrating Modi’s 25 years in public service, set to kick off on September 17.
Addressing a press conference at the state BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized that Modi’s journey is not merely a political career but a testament to unwavering commitment to public service and national welfare.
Patel stated, “The BJP is the only party where a common worker can rise to become Prime Minister, and Narendra Modi exemplifies this.” Modi began his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, before assuming the role of Prime Minister in May 2014.
To honor Modi’s 25 years of service, the BJP plans to launch the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17. Patel explained that the campaign aims to communicate Modi’s dedication to public service and transform this spirit into a national movement.
Reflecting on Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, Patel recalled significant initiatives following the 2001 earthquake, including the Kutch Rann Utsav, Vibrant Gujarat, Jyotigram Yojana, and various water conservation programs. He noted that Gujarat has established itself as a ‘policy-driven state’ and a ‘development engine’ for the country.
Patel highlighted that Modi’s governance model focuses on ensuring that the benefits of government policies reach the most marginalized citizens. He referenced initiatives like the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which have enhanced transparency and accountability in governance. Digital payments and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) have also helped India gain a distinct global identity.
The Chief Minister claimed that nearly 250 million people have risen above the poverty line, stating, “Millions of families have benefited from food, housing, healthcare, and sanitation programs.” He noted India’s progress towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, citing a recent growth rate of 7.8 percent.
Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma pointed out that October 7 marks 25 years since Modi took office as Chief Minister. He described this milestone as an opportunity to highlight Modi’s journey from a party worker to a leader dedicated to public service.
Vishwakarma underscored that this philosophy is mirrored nationally through the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.’ He mentioned that over 430 million people have received health coverage under Ayushman Bharat, and more than four million families have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Additionally, he noted the government’s focus on women’s empowerment, manufacturing, startups, defense production, exports, and job creation. “India has emerged as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem and has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities through the Make in India initiative,” he said.
Vishwakarma also highlighted that PM Modi has received the highest civilian honors from 36 countries, which he regarded as a recognition for all 1.4 billion Indians. He addressed the government’s efforts against Naxalism, the Direct Benefit Transfer system, the expansion of AIIMS, and the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will commence on September 17 with blood donation camps as part of ‘Seva Day.’ The BJP will also host the ‘Aashirwad No Divo’ program at 7 PM, where beneficiaries of government schemes will light lamps in gratitude for Modi’s 25 years of public service.
