BJP President Calls for Unity and Development at Punjabi Pride Conference in Rudrapur

Rudrapur, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Nitin Naveen, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed the Punjabi Pride Conference in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, on September 10. He called for a united effort to develop the nation, paying homage to the sacrifices of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the four Sahibzadas.

During his speech, Naveen referenced significant events such as the 1984 Sikh riots, the opening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor, and the declaration of Veer Bal Day. He urged attendees to join the campaign for a drug-free youth, linking the development of Punjab and Uttarakhand to the vision of a developed India. The event saw the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, and other notable figures from the Punjabi and Sikh communities.

Naveen expressed his deep connection to Patna Sahib, calling it his home and a sacred place for the Sikh community. He acknowledged the historical significance of Nankmata Sahib, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited nearly 500 years ago, and paid respect to the three holy shrines in Uttarakhand: Hemkund Sahib, Nankmata Sahib, and Reetha Sahib.

He highlighted the contributions of the Sikh community, particularly in the context of the 1947 partition, which saw many families relocate to the region now known as Udham Singh Nagar. Naveen also recalled the pain of the 1984 riots, emphasizing that the BJP would never forget the injustices faced by innocent Sikhs. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government has taken significant steps to rectify historical grievances, including the opening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor and the recognition of Veer Bal Day.

Addressing the challenges faced by the youth, especially concerning drug addiction in Punjab, Naveen called for collective action. He encouraged everyone to participate in the drug-free youth campaign launched by Prime Minister Modi on August 2. Finally, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the community and reaffirmed his commitment to realizing the dream of a developed India by 2047.
