SP MP Avadhesh Prasad Claims Dalits Trust Shifts to Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : In Lucknow, on September 10, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Avadhesh Prasad addressed recent political controversies, including the “Vande Mataram” debate and remarks by Congress leader P. Chidambaram. He emphasized that “Vande Mataram” symbolizes unity in diversity and should be respected by all citizens.

Regarding Chidambaram’s comments labeling certain individuals as “intellectual Naxals,” Prasad stated that everyone is entitled to their opinions and free speech.

On the internal issues within the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), particularly involving leader Akash Anand, he noted that such matters are personal and should not be publicly discussed.

Prasad expressed a significant shift in the trust of Dalits, asserting that they no longer rely on Mayawati, whose path, he claims, has diverged from the one Kanshiram laid out. Instead, he believes that confidence is now firmly placed in Akhilesh Yadav.

He also touched on the potential transfer of the Dalit vote bank, suggesting that under Yadav’s leadership, the SP has a strong presence in the Lok Sabha. Prasad argued that if not for electoral manipulation, their numbers would have exceeded 50. He questioned why the BJP lost despite claims of bringing Lord Ram to the forefront, underscoring that the trust of respected Dalit communities is now solely with Akhilesh Yadav.
