Delhi Metro Museum to Close During BRICS Summit for Security Reasons

New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Metro has announced that its museum, located at the Supreme Court Metro Station, will be closed for three days during the BRICS Summit. This closure will take effect from September 11 to September 13, 2026, due to heightened security and traffic restrictions in the area.

In an advisory issued by the Delhi Metro, officials stated they will reopen the museum on September 15, 2026, following its regular weekly closure on September 14.

Additionally, the Delhi Traffic Police has informed the public about changes to court schedules during this period, particularly affecting cases linked to the courts near the India Habitat Centre, where the summit will take place. The National Lok Adalat originally scheduled for September 12 will now be held on October 10. Lower courts will observe a holiday on September 11 and 12, with cases rescheduled for September 14.

The traffic advisory urges litigants to check their court dates before heading out and to avoid unnecessary travel in high-security and traffic-regulated zones. To facilitate the movement of BRICS representatives, both the central and Delhi governments have declared a holiday on September 11 to minimize congestion on the roads.

Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), emphasized that detailed traffic arrangements are in place for the summit, which will occur on September 11, 12, and 13. The advisory has been disseminated through the Delhi Police’s website and social media platforms to keep the public informed and reduce inconvenience during the event.

Gupta noted that 22 diversion points have been established to manage traffic flow and that officers will be available to guide the public on alternative routes as needed. The closure of schools and government offices on September 11 is expected to aid in smoother traffic management.
