Raipur, June 1: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has ordered an investigation into the disruptions that occurred during the Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah ceremony in Bemetara. This announcement was made by the CM on Monday.
During a media interaction in Raipur, CM Sai explained that a mass wedding event took place in Bemetara on Sunday. Notably, local MLA Deepesh Sahu also held his wedding on the same platform to convey a message to the community. Although all preparations were in place, including tents and pavilions, adverse weather conditions struck suddenly. Strong winds and rain caused the tents to fly away, leading to significant difficulties during the event.
The Chief Minister mentioned that an alternative arrangement was available at the old rest house, and there was a suggestion to hold the ceremony at the Maheshwari Society building. After discussions with the district administration, the wedding ceremony was ultimately conducted at the rest house.
He stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine if there were any shortcomings in the arrangements.
Additionally, he informed that the ‘Good Governance Festival’ for 2026 commenced on May 1 and will continue until June 10. On Monday, he embarked on a two-day tour of the Bastar division, covering three districts: Kondagaon, Narayanpur, and Sukma. They will stay overnight in Sukma, where a review meeting for all three districts will take place. The itinerary for Tuesday includes visits to three more districts: Bijapur, Dantewada, and Kanker, totaling six districts in two days.
According to the CM’s office, during the Good Governance Festival, the Chief Minister visited the Atal Digital Facilitation Center in the village of Bhadeknera in Kondagaon, where he interacted directly with the villagers. This center provides various services under one roof, making it easier for residents to access them.
During the conversation with CM Sai, villagers reported that they are benefiting from schemes like the Maatari Vandan Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, and pensions. Through the ‘Seva Setu’ campaign, certificates, pensions, banking, insurance, and other government services are now available in the villages. The government’s priority is to deliver services to the public through technology and empower every citizen.
Regarding the increase in LPG prices, the CM stated that the ongoing conflict in West Asia is affecting the entire world, and everyone should cooperate during these challenging times.
