New Delhi, July 1: The ambitious ‘Digital India’ initiative has completed 11 years as of Wednesday. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and extended his best wishes to the citizens. The Digital India campaign, along with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has marked this achievement as a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express, “Heartfelt congratulations to the citizens on the glorious completion of 11 years of the visionary initiative ‘Digital India’, which has brought convenience, speed, and new opportunities to millions under PM Modi’s leadership. Over the past 11 years, Digital India has made governance more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric. Services like digital payments, DBT, UPI, and DigiLocker have simplified and secured citizens’ lives.”
He further acknowledged PM Modi’s significant contribution to the creation of a ‘Developed India’ by empowering the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.’
Meanwhile, an official post from Digital India on ‘X’ highlighted that in the last 11 years, the initiative has not only provided seamless digital services to citizens but has also reduced the digital divide between rural and urban areas. Digital India has redefined good governance, innovation, and inclusive development, empowering every citizen and shaping the future of India.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also called upon people to join in the celebrations of Digital India’s 11th anniversary through their post on ‘X’. The ministry stated that the initiative has connected citizens to digital services, bridged the gap between villages and cities, and provided new directions for good governance and innovation.
It is noteworthy that the Digital India campaign was launched on July 1, 2015, by the Government of India with the aim of creating a digitally empowered society and knowledge-based economy. Coordinated by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, this flagship initiative has made government services more accessible and effective by integrating various government departments and schemes onto a single platform.
